Summary
This study tested two approaches for kidney transplant patients who develop a BK virus infection in their blood. Researchers compared simply lowering the patients' anti-rejection medication against lowering it AND switching one specific drug to another called everolimus. The goal was to see which method was better at clearing the virus while still protecting the transplanted kidney.
