New study tests if women are okay with random mesh choice in breast reconstruction

Summary

This study looks at whether women having breast reconstruction after mastectomy and their surgeons are comfortable with being randomly assigned to receive either a biological or synthetic mesh. Sixty women will take part and be followed for six months. The results will help plan a larger study that will measure satisfaction, quality of life, complications, and costs over five years.
