First seen Jan 06, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 20 times

Summary

This study aims to find biological markers in blood, urine, and saliva that could help explain why up to 40% of people with depression do not get better with standard antidepressants. Researchers will analyze samples from 50 adults with major depression who have not taken antidepressants for at least two weeks. The goal is to better understand treatment resistance and pave the way for more personalized care.
