Scientists peek inside stubborn wounds to see why they Won't heal

NCT ID NCT02519166

Summary

This study aimed to understand why some wounds take a very long time to heal. Researchers looked at wound samples from 130 patients to check for a sticky layer of bacteria called a biofilm. They did not test a treatment; instead, they observed and linked what they saw under a microscope with the patients' medical records and wound care details.
