First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 25 times
Summary
This study checked if a new generic pill containing three diabetes medicines (empagliflozin, linagliptin, and metformin) works the same as the brand-name Trijardy XR. Fourteen healthy adults took a single dose of each version under fed conditions. The goal was to see if the generic releases the drugs into the blood at similar levels, which helps ensure it can be a safe and effective alternative for managing type 2 diabetes.
