New dissolving heart implant could reduce migraines without metal complications
NCT ID NCT06203873
Summary
This study compares a new biodegradable heart implant to a traditional metal one for treating migraines in people with a small heart hole called PFO. Researchers want to see if the dissolving implant reduces migraine days per month better than the permanent metal version, with fewer side effects. The study involves 400 adults whose migraines severely impact daily life and haven't responded well to multiple preventive medications.
