Leftover samples may hold key to faster outbreak detection

Summary
This study collects leftover blood, urine, and other samples from 800 hospitalized adults to create a biobank. The samples will be used to develop and test rapid diagnostic tests for emerging infectious diseases and chemical or biological threats. No extra procedures are needed—only samples already taken during routine care are used.
