Sound waves may replace sedatives for C-Section moms
NCT ID NCT07386054
First seen Feb 04, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 14 times
Summary
This study tests if listening to binaural beats (special sounds played through headphones) can help pregnant women feel calmer during a C-section, reducing the need for anxiety medication. About 100 women having a planned C-section under spinal anesthesia will either listen to these beats or a placebo sound. The goal is to see if the beats lower the dose of sedative needed, which could mean fewer side effects for mothers.
