First seen Apr 30, 2026 · Last updated May 12, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study follows 100 children who had biliary tract reconstruction for choledochal cysts, comparing them to healthy kids. Researchers will track liver function, metabolism, and gut bacteria over time to see how early surgery affects risks for heart disease, diabetes, and liver problems later in life. The goal is to find early warning signs and suggest ways to prevent long-term complications.
