First seen Jan 04, 2026 · Last updated May 17, 2026 · Updated 26 times
Summary
This study followed over 1,000 people whose bile ducts were found to be wider than normal by chance, even though they had no symptoms. Researchers collected data from 25 hospitals in China to learn how common this condition is, what types exist, and whether surgery helps prevent future problems like infections or cancer. The goal is to create better guidelines for monitoring and treating this silent condition.
