New drug combo aims to shrink tough bile duct cancers before surgery

NCT ID NCT06001658

Summary

This study is testing a combination of three drugs (gemcitabine, cisplatin, and pembrolizumab) given before and after surgery for bile duct and gallbladder cancers that can be removed by an operation. The main goals are to see if this approach is safe, if patients can still proceed to surgery on time, and if the treatment significantly shrinks the tumor before it is removed. Researchers will also closely examine the tumor tissue to understand how the immune system interacts with the cancer.
