Halted trial tests drug to protect young livers

NCT ID NCT06121375

Summary

This study tested whether a medication called obeticholic acid could help children with biliary atresia after they had a successful Kasai surgery. The goal was to see if the drug, given alongside standard care, could delay serious liver problems like needing a transplant or hospitalization. The trial was terminated early and involved a small group of children under 18.
