$10 ruler could save newborns from brain damage

Summary
This study tests a simple, $10 plastic ruler called the bili-ruler to see if it can accurately detect jaundice in newborns. Jaundice affects most babies and, if severe, can cause brain damage. The bili-ruler is compared to standard screening methods in 5,400 newborns across multiple countries.
