Bile test could spot bile duct cancer without needle biopsy

NCT ID NCT06416397

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study aims to see if a protein test on bile fluid can accurately diagnose cholangiocarcinoma (bile duct cancer). Researchers will collect bile samples from 200 adults with bile duct narrowing during a routine scope procedure. They will compare the protein test results with standard tissue biopsy results to see if the bile test is a reliable alternative.
