Scientists search for clues to prevent stillbirth in pregnancy liver disorder

NCT ID NCT07428226

Summary

This study aims to understand if analyzing bile acid patterns in pregnant women with intrahepatic cholestasis of pregnancy (ICP) can help predict risks to the baby. Researchers will compare blood and stool samples from women with ICP, healthy pregnant women, and healthy non-pregnant women to identify patterns that might signal complications. The goal is to develop better monitoring methods to prevent stillbirth and other serious outcomes in affected pregnancies.
