Double implant hope: can two devices give kids with missing ears better hearing in noise?

NCT ID NCT07358728

First seen Jan 24, 2026 · Last updated Jun 09, 2026 · Updated 18 times

Summary

This study looks at whether using two OSIA hearing implants (one on each side) helps children with severe outer ear problems hear speech better in noisy places compared to using just one implant. Twelve children aged 7 to 17 who already use a bone conduction device will get implants on both sides. Six months after surgery, their hearing will be tested with one implant active versus both.
