NCT ID NCT05824026
First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 26, 2026
Summary
This study tested a special wound dressing with silver on 52 adults with partial-thickness burns that were infected or at risk of infection. Participants wore the dressing for two weeks, with changes once a week. The main goal was to see how many wounds healed within 14 days.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
gelling fiber wound dressing with silver
What this could lead to
If successful, this dressing could offer a simple way to help burn wounds heal faster and reduce infection risk.
What could go wrong
This was a small, completed study with only 52 participants, so results may not apply to everyone. The dressing is a device, not a cure, and healing depends on many factors.
