New lupus pill enters Mid-Stage trial – hope for millions?

Summary
This study tests an experimental oral drug, BI 3000202, in 405 adults with moderate to severe systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). Participants are randomly assigned to one of four doses of the drug or a placebo, taken daily for a year alongside their usual lupus treatments. The goal is to see if the drug reduces lupus activity and allows lower steroid use, while monitoring safety and side effects.
