New pill could help when depression meds fail

Summary
This study tested an experimental medicine called BI 1569912 in 243 adults with major depression whose previous treatments didn't work. Participants took either a placebo or one of three doses of the medicine daily for 6 weeks, while continuing their usual therapy. The goal was to see if the new medicine could further reduce depression symptoms.
