This study tested over 1,000 people in rural Bhutan for H. pylori bacteria and early signs of stomach cancer. Researchers used blood tests and, for high-risk groups, endoscopy to understand infection rates and cancer risk. The goal was to gather baseline data to help launch a national stomach cancer prevention program.
