Scientists investigate how tight cuffs and sprinting change muscle cells

NCT ID NCT07569627

First seen May 07, 2026 · Last updated May 12, 2026 · Updated 3 times

Summary

This study looked at how blood flow restriction (BFR) training—using pressurized cuffs on the legs during sprinting—affects stem cells and immune cells in muscle. Healthy men aged 20-30 took part in three separate experiments over three years. Researchers also tested whether taking vitamin B3 (NMN) or vitamin C changed those cell responses. The goal was to understand basic muscle biology, not to treat any disease.
