Scientists test 'Smart Poop' device to solve bowel mystery

NCT ID NCT03317938

Summary

This study aimed to improve how doctors diagnose chronic constipation and fecal incontinence (bowel control problems). Researchers tested new devices, including a simulated feces device called Fecobionics, on 130 patients with these conditions and 101 healthy volunteers. The goal was to find better ways to measure bowel function and identify the specific causes of these common but poorly understood disorders.
