Blood test could end need for live insect stings in allergy checkups

NCT ID NCT04438525

Summary

This study aims to find a better way to check if treatment for wasp sting allergy is working. Currently, the only reliable test involves being stung by a live insect, which is hard to access. Researchers will test if a simple blood test can accurately measure treatment effectiveness instead. They are enrolling 219 adults who have or are receiving venom allergy treatment.
