Hospital trial aims to crack code on common drug side effect

NCT ID NCT06381934

Summary

This study is testing if two new measurements, called aSID and ChU, can help doctors more accurately figure out why hospitalized patients on certain blood pressure pills develop low sodium levels. Researchers will compare treatment guided by these new measurements against current standard care to see which approach helps patients recover their sodium levels faster. The goal is to provide a simpler, more reliable tool for diagnosing this common condition.
