Simple blood test could unlock cure for millions with stubborn high blood pressure

NCT ID NCT05757076

Summary

This study tested whether using a simple blood test more widely could help find more people with a specific, treatable cause of high blood pressure called Primary Aldosteronism (PA). Researchers checked 53 adults with high blood pressure to see how many cases of PA were being missed by current screening rules. Finding PA is important because it can often be cured with surgery or effectively managed with specific medications, reducing the risk of heart attack and stroke.
