First seen Apr 11, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 5 times

Summary

This study tests a new type of prosthetic foot that can change shape to fit different shoes, giving women veterans with below-knee amputations more footwear choices. Researchers want to see if having more shoe options improves body image and helps them take part in more social activities. About 18 women veterans will try the new prosthetic foot for a short time.
