Fingertip-Sized test could save preemies from deadly infections

NCT ID NCT03291496

Summary

This study is testing a new, very small blood test to help doctors spot sepsis (a serious bloodstream infection) earlier in premature babies. Researchers are using a drop of blood to see if they can predict which babies will get sick and have a harder recovery. The goal is to create better tools for diagnosis so treatment can start sooner, potentially saving lives and reducing hospital time.
