Summary

This study aims to validate new blood tests to help doctors quickly determine if a hospitalized newborn has a serious bacterial infection. It involves 358 babies showing possible signs of infection. The goal is to create a faster, more accurate test to avoid giving antibiotics when they aren't needed, which can cause side effects and antibiotic resistance.
