New scan could help men avoid unnecessary prostate biopsies
NCT ID NCT07258056
Summary
This study is testing a new type of scan (PSMA PET/MRI) to see if it can better guide doctors during prostate biopsies. It aims to find out if this method is more accurate at detecting serious cancer and if it can safely help some men avoid having a biopsy when it's not needed. The study will involve 100 men who have concerning blood test results but whose standard MRI scans did not clearly show cancer.
