New genetic test could help doctors fix failed pneumonia treatments faster
NCT ID NCT07472114
Summary
This study is testing whether a new, more detailed genetic test can help doctors treat hospitalized pneumonia patients who aren't getting better with their initial antibiotics. Researchers will compare patients who get this advanced test to those who get standard tests to see if it leads to faster recovery, shorter hospital stays, or better survival. The goal is to see if quickly identifying the exact germ causing the pneumonia helps doctors choose the right treatment sooner.
