New scans challenge old X-Rays for spotting deadly pneumonia in seniors
NCT ID NCT04978116
Summary
This study tested three different imaging methods to see which is best at accurately diagnosing pneumonia in people over 65 coming to the emergency room. Researchers compared the standard chest X-ray against a low-dose CT scan and a lung ultrasound. The goal was to see if newer scans could lead to fewer incorrect diagnoses, better antibiotic use, and improved patient outcomes.
