New scan could spot hidden danger in pregnancy
NCT ID NCT02302573
First seen Jan 08, 2026 · Last updated Apr 04, 2026 · Updated 20 times
Summary
This study tested a special type of ultrasound scan to see if it could better detect a serious pregnancy condition called placenta accreta. Placenta accreta can cause life-threatening bleeding after birth, and current methods sometimes miss it. Researchers enrolled 80 pregnant women at high risk to see if this new scan could provide a clearer, more reliable picture to help doctors plan safer deliveries.
