New nerve block cuts pain, nausea after mastectomy

NCT ID NCT07388238

Summary

This study compared two different nerve-block techniques for managing pain after breast cancer surgery (mastectomy). Researchers tested the methods on 64 female patients to see which provided better and longer-lasting pain relief with fewer side effects. They found that one specific nerve block (the Serratus Anterior Plane Block) worked better, leading to less pain, less need for strong painkillers, and fewer issues like nausea and vomiting.
