New scans and dye aim to spot hidden cancer spread

NCT ID NCT01737619

Summary

This study is testing if two methods—a combined PET/CT scan and a special dye used during surgery—can better find cancer that has spread to lymph nodes in patients with high-risk endometrial cancer. The goal is to see if these methods are as good as or better than the standard surgical removal of lymph nodes for checking for cancer spread. Researchers hope this can lead to more accurate staging and potentially reduce the need for extensive surgery.
