New scan aims to spare bile duct cancer patients unnecessary surgery

NCT ID NCT07161869

Summary

This study is testing an improved ultrasound method to check if bile duct cancer has spread to nearby lymph nodes before surgery. The goal is to better identify patients whose cancer has already spread, so they can avoid an unnecessary major operation. Researchers will enroll 250 patients with bile duct cancer that appears removable by surgery to see if this new approach helps guide treatment decisions.
