New scan aims to reduce unnecessary kidney surgeries

NCT ID NCT03996850

Summary

This study is testing whether a specialized imaging scan called MIBI SPECT/CT can help doctors better identify the type of kidney tumor a patient has. The goal is to see if this scan provides clearer information that helps patients and doctors choose the most appropriate treatment—whether that's surgery, monitoring, or other approaches. Researchers are enrolling 102 adults recently diagnosed with a small to medium-sized kidney tumor.
