Summary

This study aims to see if a new blood test can better predict whether a fever in babies under 3 months old is caused by a serious bacterial infection or a virus. Currently, many babies get admitted to the hospital for antibiotics just in case, even though most fevers are viral. The test looks at specific markers on white blood cells. 180 babies will be enrolled to see how accurate the test is.
