Two-Week heart monitor trial aims to spot hidden dangers in common valve condition

NCT ID NCT06378996

Summary

This study is testing if wearing a heart rhythm monitor for 14 days is better than the standard 24-hour test at finding dangerous irregular heartbeats in people with mitral valve prolapse (MVP). Researchers will enroll 60 adults with MVP to see how much the heart rhythm varies day-to-day and if the longer monitoring catches more problems. The goal is to gather data to plan a larger future study on improving diagnosis for the small group of MVP patients at risk for serious heart rhythms.
