New scan could replace costly MRIs for heart patients

NCT ID NCT05186415

Summary

This study tested a new ultrasound method to see if it could measure heart size and function as accurately as an MRI for people with repaired congenital heart disease. Researchers combined 3D ultrasound imaging with a safe contrast dye to get clearer pictures of the heart's right ventricle. The goal was to create a more accessible and affordable alternative to MRI scans for long-term patient monitoring.
