New scans could crack the code on hidden heart failure

NCT ID NCT06905405

Summary

This study aims to see if advanced heart scans can better identify a tricky-to-diagnose type of heart failure where the heart pumps normally but is too stiff to fill properly. Researchers will enroll 40 people with symptoms like shortness of breath but an unclear diagnosis after standard tests. Participants will get specialized heart ultrasounds and MRI scans to look for signs of the condition, and if found, will start on appropriate treatment to see if their symptoms improve over six months.
