Summary
This study tested a set of new blood tests to see if they could detect serious Candida yeast infections faster and more accurately than the standard blood culture test. It involved adult hospital patients who were very sick and suspected of having a fungal infection. The goal was to help doctors diagnose these dangerous infections sooner so patients could get the right antifungal treatment without delay.
