New heart monitor tested to prevent fluid overload in critical sepsis

NCT ID NCT07411469

Summary

This study aims to find a better way to predict which patients with septic shock will benefit from receiving intravenous (IV) fluids. It will compare two non-invasive monitoring methods: one using ultrasound to look at a major vein and another using a sensor on the chest to measure heart function. The goal is to help doctors give the right amount of fluid to these very sick patients, avoiding the risks of giving too much or too little.
