Shining a light on ear infections: new device aims for more accurate diagnosis

NCT ID NCT04812093

Summary

This study is testing a new device that uses safe LED light to look inside the ear. The goal is to create a more accurate, objective way to diagnose middle ear infections, which are very common in children but can be tricky to diagnose correctly. Researchers will compare the device's readings to what surgeons see during ear tube placement surgery.
