New 'Mini-Gut' test could end years of uncertainty for cystic fibrosis diagnosis

NCT ID NCT07402434

Summary

This study aims to develop a more accurate test for diagnosing cystic fibrosis (CF), especially in cases where current tests are unclear. Researchers will grow tiny 'mini-guts' (organoids) from a small rectal tissue sample to see how the CF gene works. They will compare this new method to standard tests to see if it provides clearer answers faster, helping people get the right treatment sooner.
