Smart ventilator aims to protect lungs during back surgery

NCT ID NCT07349719

Summary

This study is testing a new, personalized way to run the breathing machine (ventilator) during back surgery. The goal is to see if this method, which adjusts in real-time based on how well the patient's lungs are working, is better than the standard method at protecting the lungs. Researchers will compare the two methods in 71 patients having back surgery to see which one leads to better lung function after the operation.
