Tiny patients, big problem: study seeks safer way to monitor critical heart medication

NCT ID NCT07365670

Summary

This study aims to find the most accurate way to check blood thinner levels in children with congenital heart disease who are in intensive care. Researchers will compare two different methods of drawing blood from a central line against a 'gold standard' sample to see which gives a more reliable result. The goal is to improve monitoring so doctors can better balance the medication, reducing the risk of dangerous bleeding or blood clots in these vulnerable children.
