New study finds better drug to protect moms during C-Sections

NCT ID NCT07327320

Summary

This study compared two common medications used to prevent a dangerous drop in blood pressure during spinal anesthesia for planned cesarean sections. In 98 women, a continuous infusion of norepinephrine was significantly more effective than phenylephrine at maintaining stable blood pressure and heart rate. Both drugs were equally safe for the newborn babies.
