Heart rhythm breakthrough? study tests new ablation strategy for stubborn AFib

NCT ID NCT07405359

Summary

This study aims to find a better way to treat persistent atrial fibrillation (AFib), a common heart rhythm disorder. It will compare the standard ablation procedure, which isolates the pulmonary veins, against a more extensive procedure that also isolates two other areas of the heart. Researchers want to see if the more extensive approach helps patients stay free of AFib for longer without needing extra medications.
