Can a mushroom extract and exercise fight frailty?
NCT ID NCT06629805
Summary
This study is testing whether a natural supplement called beta-glucan, taken from a type of mushroom, can help improve muscle strength and physical function when combined with regular exercise. It involves 116 adults aged 50 and older who are starting to lose muscle mass (a condition called relative sarcopenia). Participants will take the supplement or a placebo daily for 12 weeks while doing combined exercises, and researchers will measure changes in their muscle strength, mass, and mobility.
