NCT ID NCT06472934
First seen Jan 05, 2026 · Last updated Apr 25, 2026 · Updated 19 times
Summary
This study looks at whether it is safe to temporarily stop taking beta-blockers (a heart medication) before a procedure called transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) for people with severe aortic stenosis. About 498 adults who are scheduled for TAVR and have been on beta-blockers for at least a month will be randomly assigned to either stop or continue their medication. Researchers will track deaths, hospital readmissions for heart failure, strokes, and serious heart rhythm problems within 30 days after the procedure to see if stopping the drug is safe.
